Candle Care & Tips

Candle care & tips for enjoying your Dionna Home candle for as long as possible while ensuring your safety.

 WAX HAS MEMORY

  • The first time you light your candle, allow enough time for the wax to melt completely to the edges of the container. Allowing a full melt pool creates an even burn to prevent tunneling and will give maximum fragrance throw.

CANDLE PLACEMENT

  • Always place candles on a level, heat-resistant, stable surface away from flammable objects.
  • Keep away from drafts like fans, vents, doorways, or windows.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep out of reach from children and pets.

LONGEVITY

  • Keep the wick trimmed in between burns. Not trimming the wick at all can lead to soot in the wax, a larger flame and your candle burning too hot. Alternatively, If the wick is trimmed too short, it can become extinguished by the wax as it burns down. Please trim carefully to around 1/8 of an inch.
  • If your candle’s flame starts to burn or flicker wildly and does not calm down, extinguish your candle, wait a few hours, and trim the cooled wick before relighting.
  • Avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

 KEEP IT SAFE

  • Once your candle has 1/4" of wax left, clean out the remaining wax to repurpose the vessel as a stylish glass or for any other creative use.
  • Do not add dried flowers or debris to the candle, as any foreign object can get too close to the flame, catch fire, and result in damage.
  • Do not use room sprays or other flammable sprays near open flame.
  • Never move or touch the candle jar when the wax is in liquid form.
  • Never extinguish a candle with water.

Enjoy!
